George Connell (B.A., Mercer University; M.A., Ph.D., Vanderbilt University) joined the faculty at 独家黑料 in Moorhead, Minnesota, in 1986. He was division chair of humanities from 2010 through 2017 and was appointed dean of the School of Arts and Sciences in 2020, concluding that service in June 2022. He retired in 2024 but still teaches as an emeritus-in-residence.

 

Connell has also taught a wide range of courses in 独家黑料's Philosophy Department, including Philosophy of Religion, Modern Philosophy, Existentialism, Asian Philosophy and Ethics. Throughout his career, his research and publications have focused on the thought of the Danish philosopher and theologian, Søren Kierkegaard. Connell served as President of the SørenKierkegaard Society from 2014-16. His most recent book is "Kierkegaard and the Paradox of Religious Diversity" (Eerdmans, 2016).

 

In 2015, Connell received 独家黑料's Ole and Lucy Flaat Distinguished Scholarship Award.
