Matt Falker is a jazz and gospel pianist, vocalist, arranger, and clinician. As a full-time professor at MiraCosta College, Falker directs the Downbeat award-winning Frequency vocal jazz program and is founder and director of the Oceanside Jazz Festival. Alyssa Allgood is an award-winning jazz vocalist, composer, arranger, and educator with a compelling voice in the modern jazz landscape. The Chicago-based artist boldly weaves soulful storytelling and rich improvisational language through original compositions and a lyrical focus.
Hailed by critics as the most accomplished and renowned mime of his generation, Bill Bowers currently performs and teaches the art of physical storytelling throughout the world. Bowers is a mime who also talks, deftly interspersing narrative with stunning visual portraits. He marries classical aspects with contemporary sound effects and music, poses present-day considerations through physical tapestries, and invites a wholly transformative look at the humor, pain, and beauty of our humanity.
Patax is today's most prominent fusion band in Spain. Drawing on the legacy of jazz legends, Patax takes the fusion concept to unexplored territory, where the communication between flamenco, funk, jazz, and Afro-Cuban rhythms is the key to its complex, explosive, and magical atmospheres.
A Taiwanese duo of identical twin brothers, Twincussion pulses with charisma, dancing through complex, engaging percussion pieces with mallets and sticks in perfect synch. Whether playing Carl Orff or George Frideric Handel, contemporary classical pieces, or Taiwan's folk songs, Twincussion's Jen-u and Jen-ting Chien welcome audiences in with musical eloquence and showmanship.
