Bryn Nelson, Ph.D., is a science journalist and former microbiologist who recently put those two passions together to publish In his book, the 1992 ¶À¼ÒºÚÁÏ graduate delves into human feces as an incredible tool for medicine, sustainable power, and restoration of the world's depleted lands. 

In an interview on Prairie Public Radio's Main Street, the author challenges people to move past their initial disgust of the topic so society can move forward with scientific policies that impact our personal, social, and environmental health.

Nelson also spoke about being "blessed with great science and writing professors" as a student. This fall, he returned to campus to speak at a biology department career seminar organized by one of his past professors, Dr. Ellen Aho. He also presented at a technical writing class to give students a glimpse of a science writing career.
